Toshu's Kanji House 9th

Thank you for waiting.
Today's guest is 衆"People".

Good to see you!! I'm 衆"People".
Thank you for inviting me as your guest~!!(in Osakan dialect)

You sound like a famous comedian with protruding teeth and the name of the fish.

Yeah~, everyone says so~.

First of all, could you briefly introduce yourself?

I was born as Oracle Bone Script.
So I'm around 3,300 years old~. HAHAHA!!

It is the same generation as 人“Person”.

Both of us look young, don't we~? (^^♪

Yes..you..are...💦

When I was born, I was a Kanji who represented a lot of people who lived in a castle in Yin era of China. I'm called “Ooi” as well.
And I have a character called □“Square” above three 人“Person”, and it represents a town called a castle surrounded by a wall.
There is also a version of 日“Sun”~.

甲骨文字(Oracle Bone Script)

Old China looks like this~. ↓

Walls of Xi'an Castle in China

It would be a big problem, if the enemies were coming into the castle to attack. So the people surrounded it with tall things.
Even a very big town is represented by □“Square” and the people of the town are represented by 3 人“Person”.
Well, it’s like the law of Kanji~.

Oh, is that so?

Yeah~.

Can I ask you a question?

You can ask me anything~.

In the case of Oracle Bone Script, a castle wall is called □“Square” or 日"Sun", but in the case of Bronze Script, it looks like 目"Eye". Why is that?

金文(Bronze Script)

You noticed a good point(^^)
It's too old to be clear, but perhaps it meant the people being watched in the castle.

Oh, I see.

Yeah~, ↓ This upper part does not come from 血“Blood”~.

楷書(Kaisho)

But as the modern Kanji radical, it is 血“Blood”.
After all, the radicals are retrofitted, so there are some things that are not related to the Kanji's whole shebang.

Now Leciel explains the radical of Kanji, Bow-Wow!
It would be a little longer, so I explain on this page, Ruff-Ruff!

Do you have anything more to talk?

I have a Kanji character that looks like my cousin.
Let me introduce her to you~.
I have □“Square” above 3 人"Person", right? If you put the Kanji 巴 under it, it would be 邑, but the □“Square” in the Kanji means a castle.
And 巴 is called 卩(Fushizukuri・Warifu) and it looks like a man bended from the side.
It is the Kanji that represents the presence of a person in a castle and means "Cities, Towns, Villages".

Is it "阝(Oozato)", right?

Yeah. You knew that~.
When it combines with other forms of characters, "邑" transforms into ''阝(Oozato)".
For example, 都"City".

''阝(Oozato)" comes to the right side of Kanji, doesn't it?

Yeah. It is 旁(Tsukuri) as it comes to the right side.
The one which comes to the left side of Kanji is "阝(Kozato-hen)" (the Kanji of '陽' and '階', for example). Don't mix them up.
I can't transform, so I'm a bit jealous of popular Kanji who appear in various characters as the radicals of "邑 = 阝(Oozato)".

Please don't get depressed, 衆"People".

I'm alright. Thank you for worrying about me.

I still want to listen to the story of a famous comedian with protruding teeth...
Excuse me, you must be 衆"People"(*_*;
Can you introduce your friend?

Yeah. I ran into 身"Body" and 包"Pack" the other day. They were beautiful as usual~♡
And when I told them that I was going to appear in the next "Toshu's Kanji House"~, they said, "No women have come out since us."!!
I thought so, too, so I want to introduce 2 women '''' and '''.

Two women?

Yeah~. I am popular~!! Women don't let me go~!!

Can I have any tips?

I think they are women to the fullest...

Wow, looking forward to seeing them!!

Take good care of them~.

I'm wondering who they are.
So excited.
Thank you, 衆"People".

See you~!!

The profile of 衆"People" is here, so I want you to read it, Bow-Wow!
{in a quiet voice} Actually, Toshu-sensei is from Kobe, Ruff-Ruff.
Where there's no one, she sometimes talks like 衆"People" does.
Leciel knows that, Bow-Wow.
Everyone, keep it a secret, Ruff-Ruff!!
See you, Bow-Wow!!
